Hemimorphite Crystal Healing Properties

Hemimorphite is thought to open & clear the higher chakras by stimulating the third eye and crown chakras and calm the emotional body. It is believed to be a powerful stone for forgiveness, release of anger and resentment and healing of karmic ties between people. Furthermore, it may be useful for maintaining a balanced, positive outlook when experiencing hormonal shifts in the body.

History and Uses

Hemimorphite can be found as either colourless white crystal blades or turquoise coloured ball like clusters. Until the mid 19th century it was named calamine then renamed Hemiphorphite which refers to the unusual formation of these crystals which have differently shaped terminations. It has also been called the Buddah Stone because of its ability to reduce anger and selfishness encouraging peace towards and compassion for the self and those around you.

Geological Description

Hemimorphite is a hydrous zinc silicate with a hardness of 4.5 to 5. Its crystal pattern is orthorhombic and tabular. Interestingly some specimens fluoresce in UV light. Major deposits of Hemimorphite are found in Algeria, Italy, Greece, Mexico and Namibia.
