Epidote Crystal Healing Properties

Epidote is believed to be useful in overcoming habitual negativity, hopelessness, fatalism and other destructive emotional patterns. It may generate hope for the future and a willingness to pursue one’s dreams.

History and Uses

The name Epidote comes from the Greek word epidosis meaning addition or increase referring to one side of the ideal prism being longer than the other. Also, it is called Pistacite due to its pistachio green colour. It ranges in colour from olive green, grey, brown or nearly black, but most usually is a shade of yellowish-green or pistachio-green. Epidote is an attraction stone, bringing you more of what you emanate so be sure to remember you reap what you sow. Traditionally, crystal healers have worked with Epidote to clear congestion and energy blockages in the physical and subtle bodies and because it helps to balance and stabilise the energy flow in the body.

Geological Description

Epidote is an aluminium, iron silicate mineral with a hardness of 6 to 7. Its crystal system is monoclinic and it often grows in prismatic crystals. Epidote crystals have been found in Austria, Pakistan, Mexico, Norway, Mozambique and the USA.
