Chalcedony Crystal Healing Properties

Chalcedony is believed to absorb negative energy and may promote happiness, harmony, peace and joy. It is thought to banish hostility and negative emotions as such increasing self-esteem. It is used to balance the body, mind, emotions and spirit.

History and Uses

Chalcedony ranges in colour from white to grey, greyish-blue, or brown ranging from pale to nearly black. It has a waxy lustre, and may be semitransparent or translucent.

It comes in many varieties including Agate, Carnelian, Aventurine, Jasper, Onyx, Bloodstone, Tiger Eye, Sardonyx and Chrysoprase.

Many Native American tribes use it for sacred ceremonies and named it a “stone of brotherhood” because it was thought to bring energies of loving kindness and goodwill to all.

Geological Description

Chalcedony is a silicon dioxide, cryptocrystalline variety of Quartz. It forms from watery silica gels at relatively low temperatures, and is found all over the world.
