Barite Crystal Healing Properties

Barite is thought to assist with one’s ability in linking us to our highest purpose and higher self. Similarly, it acts as a magnet to high-frequency energy. It is also believed to activate and clear blockages in the upper chakras allowing for a stronger connection to intuitive abilities.

Barite may assist us in recognising where we must let go and allow change, in order for our evolution to occur. In this way, it is believed that it may aid with understanding and releasing trapped negative emotions which no longer serve us by replacing them with love. It is also known to stimulate memory and facilitate information retention. Barite has also been known to be a useful tool for dream recall.

History and Uses

Barite derives its name from its Barium content, it can be found in colours of blue-green, colourless, gold, red, white, pink or yellow. One form of Barite can be found in a circular, concentric-bladed crystal formation resembling flowers, called Sand Roses, Rose Rocks and Barite Roses.

They are formed by the forces of wind, water and pressure in dry, arid regions due to the evaporation of a shallow saltwater basin. These formations are most commonly found in Oklahoma USA, where they were named the official state rock in 1968.

Used in body layouts, it is thought to remove toxins from the body, soothe the nervous system and may help in the recovery of addictions. Crystal grids of Barite are also believed to help heal Gaia as the energy flow this stone brings is the understanding that all things are possible and it may help us create a strong connection with Nature and the Devic realm.

Geological Description

Barite is a barium sulfate crystal with an orthorhombic crystal system and a hardness of 3 to 3.5. It is found most abundantly in England, Romania and the USA.
